- Márquez: Danzón No. 2
- Rodrigo: Concerto de Aranjuez featuring Daniel Salazar, Guitar
- Strauss: Don Quixote featuring CHSO Principal Cellist, Johann Soults
Our venture to all things Spanish begins with Joaquin Rodrigo’s noble and elegant “Concerto de Aranjuez” featuring the return solo performance from long-time CHSO friend, Daniel Salazar on guitar.
Our own CHSO Principal Cellist, Johann Soults, takes on the mantle of “knighthood” as we set off on a “quest” in the Richard Strauss masterwork depicting the fabled but flawed hero of Cervantes.
The program also includes Mexican composer Arturo Márquez and his Danzón No. 2, a work for full orchestra with solos for clarinet, oboe, keyboard, violin, trumpet, and piccolo. (Please note that the substitution of Danzon is an update from the original program.)
